Welcoming dignataries and guests to the Festival Ambassador of Thailand to South Africa, Dr. Pornchai Danvivathana said that the theme of the event this year is the prelude of the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of the Diplomatic Relations between South Africa and Thailand and that both countries have long shared and enjoyed cordial political and economic ties.

The Festival showcased Thai cultural dance and music, umbrella and Batik painting workshops, a Thai silk fashion show, Muay Thai demonstrations, fruit and food tasting.

Ntobeko Mkhize and Thomas Brady were the lucky winners of a trip to Amazing Thailand. The prize included 2 economy class tickets to Thailand each (on Singapore Airlines) and seven nights' accommodation in Phuket and Khao Lak.

The Festival gave the public a taste of what Thailand has to offer.
